Realme is set to launch its latest budget offering, the Narzo 100x, in India on July 15, and the company is betting almost everything on one number: 8000mAh. That's the size of the battery packed into this phone, which Realme claims is the largest in its price segment, and it's clearly the centrepiece of the marketing push around this launch.
The Narzo 100x will slot into the Rs 15,000-20,000 price bracket, positioning it just above the more basic Narzo 100 Lite in Realme's lineup. According to the company, that massive 8000mAh cell can deliver up to three days of battery life under light usage, a claim that would be notable even on a flagship, let alone a phone in this price range. For Indian buyers who often complain about having to charge their phones multiple times a day, especially with heavy use of social media, streaming, and navigation apps, this kind of battery promise is a genuine selling point.
Powering the device is MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with storage options going up to 256GB, which should be enough headroom for apps, photos, and downloaded content without users constantly worrying about space. The display is a 144Hz panel capable of hitting 1200 nits of peak brightness, numbers that suggest smooth scrolling and decent outdoor visibility, both useful in India's bright daytime conditions. To keep the phone from overheating during long gaming or usage sessions, Realme has included a 5300 square millimeter vapor chamber cooling system, a feature that's increasingly common even in budget phones as manufacturers push for sustained performance.
Durability also seems to be part of the pitch. The phone carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, along with MIL STD 810H certification, which typically signals resistance to drops, vibrations, and extreme temperatures. These certifications matter to a segment of buyers who want a phone that can survive daily wear and tear without needing a bulky case. On the charging side, the 8000mAh battery is paired with 45W fast charging, which should help offset the longer charging times that come with such a large cell.
In terms of looks, the Narzo 100x will be available in two colourways, Flash Orange and Midnight Black, and features a dual 50-megapixel camera setup on the back. Realme has yet to reveal details about the front-facing camera, which is likely to be confirmed closer to or on launch day. On the software front, the phone will run Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16, and will come equipped with Gemini Live along with a suite of AI-powered tools, including an eraser feature and a note-taking assistant, reflecting the broader industry trend of baking AI utilities into even budget devices.
Interestingly, there is speculation that the Narzo 100x could essentially be a rebadged version of the Realme P4R 5G, which debuted in June at a similar price point. If true, this wouldn't be unusual for Realme, which has a history of reworking existing hardware under different sub-brands for various markets. Buyers eager to know exact pricing and variant details will have to wait until noon on July 15, when Realme is expected to reveal the full price list alongside the official launch.
