Akshay put up the posters on Instagram on Wednesday, writing that Haiwaniyat won't stop now, and confirming the film hits theatres on September 11.The pictures show both actors in a darker, more intense mood than what audiences are used to seeing from either of them lately. It's a shift. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film had already been building buzz since Tuesday, when Akshay posted a cryptic line hinting the comedy days were over and something rougher was coming. That's the tone the makers seem to be chasing here, moody and a bit menacing, not the usual big reveal with dialogue and plot bits thrown in. Comments under the post came in fast too, with fans saying they can't wait to see Akshay play the villain for once.
The film isn't just riding on star power. Haiwaan comes from KVN Productions and Thespian Films, the same banner behind Vijay's Jana Nayagan and Yash's Toxic, so expectations were already high before a single frame dropped. Boman Irani,Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar round out the cast in key roles.Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn are producing, and the film is set to release nationwide on September 11, 2026.
