Total Dhamaal, the third film in the series, had opened with Rs 16.50 crore net back in 2019.Dhamaal 4 started slow too, with morning occupancy sitting around eight to ten percent, well below what Total Dhamaal pulled in during its own morning shows. Business picked up as the day went on, though, with afternoon and evening numbers pushing the total higher than early trackers expected.Directed by Indra Kumar, the film brings back Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Jaaved Jaaferi, along with Sanjay Mishra, Ravi Kishan and Esha Gupta, and the story follows the same chaotic treasure hunt formula fans know well, this time centered on something called the Treasure of Life.

Trade analysts had earlier hoped the film might cross Rs 16 crore and beat Total Dhamaal's record outright, but that target slipped away as the day progressed.Whether it can make up ground over the weekend depends a lot on Saturday and Sunday, when family audiences tend to show up in bigger numbers for this kind of film. The film released across roughly 10,252 shows on its first day.
