Salman Khan has once again managed to keep his fans hooked, this time by sharing fresh pictures from the sets of Maatrubhumi on Tuesday. The actor, flaunting his muscular frame in a black vest, ripped jeans and a rugged cowboy hat, kept the caption minimal, simply writing "Maatrubhumi" alongside the images. The timing of the post is significant, coming right on the heels of weeks of speculation and confusion about whether the much-awaited film had cleared its censor board certification.

As it turns out, the film has not yet been certified, but the reason behind this has little to do with what fans initially feared. A wave of reports had claimed that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had put Maatrubhumi's clearance on hold, a development that immediately triggered anxiety among Salman Khan's massive fanbase, who worried this meant yet another delay for a project that has already seen its fair share of setbacks. However, Salman Khan Films was quick to step in and clarify the situation, stating clearly that the film simply has not been submitted to the board for certification yet. In other words, the movie is still in an earlier stage of its post-production and release preparation, and there has been no rejection or hold placed on it by the CBFC. For a film that has already faced multiple hurdles, this clarification comes as something of a relief for fans eagerly awaiting more updates.

Maatrubhumi's journey to the big screen has been anything but smooth. The film was originally announced under the title Battle of Galwan, a title that directly referenced the real-life 2020 India-China border clash in the Galwan Valley that forms the emotional core of the story. However, director Apoorva Lakhia and the makers later decided to rename the project to Maatrubhumi, May War Rest in Peace, a title change aimed at capturing the deeper emotional and patriotic undertones of the narrative, rather than framing it purely as a war film.

The film is based on the events of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, a confrontation that left a lasting impact on the nation's collective memory and has since inspired several cinematic tributes. Salman Khan plays the role of Colonel Santosh Babu, the Indian Army officer who led his troops during the clash, in what is being seen as one of the more serious and patriotic roles of his career. Chitrangada Singh stars opposite him, adding further weight to the cast.

Originally slated for an April release, Maatrubhumi missed that window, and with certification still pending, there is currently no confirmed release date for the film. Even so, Salman Khan's latest glimpse from the sets has reignited excitement, with fans now eagerly waiting for official word on when they can finally watch this deeply anticipated tribute to the Galwan Valley heroes on the big screen.
