Three new foldables are expected to land that day, the Wide-Fold, a Z Flip8, and a Z Fold8. And that wide screen thing, it's the real story here. Samsung's official confirmation this week backs up months of leaks claiming the new device folds sideways into a shape closer to a small tablet than a phone. Rumors point to a 7.6 inch inner display, with a crease that leaked photos compared to Oppo's Find N6. One image that leaked out of a Korean forum last month showed the phone wrapped in an anti leak case, but you could still make out the wider body and a dual camera bump on back.
Samsung hasn't said much about specs yet, just the shape, and honestly that's smart marketing. People are already arguing online about whether "wide" beats "tall" for a folding phone, which is sort of the point. The bigger screen is supposed to help with video, gaming, split screen work, that kind of thing. Whether regular buyers care about that as much as tech reviewers do is another question. Leaked case designs suggest the camera cutout on the Wide-Fold is bigger than expected, and the flash might be built right into the camera module itself. Samsung is holding its cards close for now, and with three weeks left before Unpacked, more leaks are almost certainly coming.
