Xiaomi India has officially launched the Xiaomi 17T in the country, marking the return of the popular T-series lineup after a long hiatus. Priced starting at ₹59,999, the 17T targets the premium mid-range segment with a strong camera system, a huge battery, and the latest Android 16 software.

Price and Availability

  • 12GB + 256GB: ₹59,999
  • 12GB + 512GB: ₹64,999

The phone went on sale from June 10 onwards via Amazon India, Xiaomi's official website, and authorised offline retail stores across the country. It is available in three colour options.

Display

The Xiaomi 17T sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits — making it one of the brightest screens in its price range. The display is ideal for outdoor use and HDR content consumption.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the 17T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra — a 4nm chip — paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM for snappy multitasking and gaming performance. The phone is backed by a generous 6,500mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge fast charging support, which Xiaomi claims can fully charge the phone in under an hour.

Leica-Tuned Triple Camera System

The headline feature is the Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup:

  • 50MP main sensor — wide angle with OIS
  • 50MP periscope telephoto — 5x optical zoom
  • Ultrawide lens for group shots and landscapes

Xiaomi's partnership with Leica brings the same camera tuning found on its flagship Xiaomi 15 series down to a more accessible price point. The cameras support Leica Authentic and Leica Vibrant shooting modes, along with AI-powered scene detection and night photography enhancements.

Software: Android 16 + HyperOS 3

The Xiaomi 17T ships with Android 16 and Xiaomi HyperOS 3 out of the box — one of the first phones in India to do so. Xiaomi has promised 4 years of Android OS updates and 5 years of security patches, making it a solid long-term buy.

Build and Design

The phone carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance — a rarity at this price point — and features a premium glass-and-metal construction. It supports dual SIM 5G connectivity with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Verdict

The Xiaomi 17T makes a strong case in the ₹60,000 segment, going up against phones like the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G and the OnePlus 13R. Its standout strengths are the Leica cameras, the massive battery, and the clean software promise — making it one of the most complete packages in the premium mid-range category this year.
