That's a long sit for anyone.The Trojan Horse scene alone reportedly got a round of applause at early screenings.Reviewers overseas have made similar noise, calling it Nolan's most towering work since Inception. But the Standard says you barely notice the time once the Cyclops turns up.
Zendaya turns up as a vision of the goddess Athena,Charlize Theron plays the nymph Calypso, and Samantha Morton very nearly steals the whole picture as the enchantress Circe, and when the film screened at the BFI IMAX, the sound reportedly hit hard enough to shake the floor under everyone's feet.A quarter of a billion dollars on a Greek myth sounded mad, right up until you actually see what Nolan pulled off with it. The Odyssey opens in cinemas everywhere this Friday, July 17.
